Zambuka Houseboat
The Zambuka is a well‑maintained double‑deck pontoon houseboat moored at Andora Harbour in Kariba Town, designed to offer spacious and child‑proof comfort for groups of up to twelve—though sixteen can be accommodated if needed. Below the upper deck lie two air‑conditioned double cabins alongside two twin cabins, each fitted with mosquito screens and sliding lake‑facing doors to fill the cabins with light and cooling breezes. It features two separate showers and toilets plus an outdoor shower on the Bermuda deck, and the upper deck offers extra mattress space beneath mosquito nets for guests wishing to sleep under the stars. While cabin fans operate from around 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., powered air-conditioning provides comfort during the night. A splash pool on the upper deck shaded by an umbrella invites relaxation and there are two eight-seat Yamaha‑powered pontoon tender boats for fishing and wildlife excursions. Zambuka includes a covered dining and bar area plus a modern galley with refrigeration, ice maker and dining facilities. A small CD music system is available, and guests are welcome to bring their own music and plugs for adaptors. Operated by a crew of captain, chef and deckhand, the houseboat is typically boarded at noon and guests disembark around 9:30 a.m. the following day. Generators are run during midday and overnight hours to support power for the boat and tenders, with crew on duty from early morning until about 9 p.m. Overall, Zambuka blends safety, family-friendly design, cabin comfort and lakeside charm to deliver an inviting Kenyan‑style houseboat safari experience on Lake Kariba
