Drifter Houseboat

The Drifter houseboat on Lake Kariba is a breezy, pontoon-style vessel carefully maintained and run by seasoned hosts based in Kariba (often moored at Marineland or Chawara Harbour depending on water levels) At roughly 65 feet in length, powered by twin Nissan CK10 diesel engines, it cruises Lake Kariba with ease at approximately 6 to 7 knots.

Designed to accommodate up to sixteen passengers, Drifter features four ensuite cabins—three twin cabins each with two single beds and one double cabin—while up to eight additional guests can sleep out under mosquito‑netting on the spacious, covered top deck. The lower deck houses a comfortable lounge area and a fully equipped galley, and there is a separate shower and toilet designated for those sleeping upstairs—electricity is supported by solar power with a 5kva generator and inverter back up, powering lights, refrigeration, and charging outlets. Guests must bring plug adaptors if needed

A steel splash pool on the rear deck invites daytime relaxation while two crew‑operated 25 hp pontoon tenders carry guests for fishing and game‑viewing excursions along the shoreline There’s also a charcoal braai unit on board and basic recreational extras like a dartboard (bring your own darts).
